1987 The Road to Wembley

Maidstone Quarter Final Floodlit drama as Dave Redfern scores against Maidstone in the Quarter Final Replay, en route to Wembley - 3,316 watch on  at Eton Park.

Dartford Semi-Final -1  Paul Groves levels the scores against Dartford in the Semi-Final First Leg at Eton Park. Albion went on to win 2-1, and  then booked their ticket to a Wembley final against Kidderminster Harriers with a 2-0 win in the second leg in Kent

The teams  The Albion and Kidderminster players  line up after 120  draining minutes of football in the Wembley sunshine. The match finisherd goalless -so a replay at the Hawthorns the following Tuesday was required.

1987 Replay at the Hawthorns

Hawthorns action -1 Paul Groves heads in for Albion after just a minute of the FA Trophy Final Replay against Kidderminster at the Hawthorns. Some fans were still finding their seats after the kick-off was delayed 15 minutes to allow everyone in, but the goal is disallowed for pushing.

Hawthorns action - 2  Paul Davies fires Harriers in front on 31 minutes, thanks to a deflection off Alan Kamara (left) - Steve Essex watches on helplessly

Hawthorns action - 3 Albion had conceded a second goal just a minute before, and looked dead and buried, when Paul Groves headed this goal to send the match into a nerve-jangling last ten minutes.

Hawthorns action - 4  Agony for Albion, and especially for Paul Bancroft, as he suffers one of those "Gareth Southgate" moments that footballers dread. The celebrations of the Brewers fans  packed in the Birmingham Road End behind this goal turns to despair as Kidderminster keeper Jim Arnold saves the spot kick, with four minutes left on the clock, to win the Trophy for Harriers.

1990's Post Wembley

Late '80's Eton Park action

Gresley, Boxing Day 1993  Aged Gresley keeper bob Aston quivers before another Albion attack, as the Brewers romp home 4-0  in the first league derby between the two sides in nearly 40 years- The Moat Ground (a splendid view as ever) -Boxing Day 1993...

Albion v Gresley 1993-94  ...followed by a 1-0 victory at Eton Park the following April.

Bradford - FA Cup 1st Round  Darren Stride scores his first goal of two as Albion make an astonishing fightback against Bradford at Valley Parade in November 1995. 2-0 and 3-1 down, the Brewers come back to 3-3 and hit the crossbar in the second half before a last gasp Ian Ormanroyd goal robs them of a lucrative replay.

We're backing the Brewers!

Southern League Cup Winners 1997 More than 30 years after first lifting the Trophy, Albion win the now Dr. Marten's League Cup at Sudbury Town. The Brewers also won the Birmingham Senior Cup in this season, beating Tamworth in the final.
