What was the first Brewers match you attended, and what do you remember about it?
An NPL game against Tamworth on Easter Monday, 1983. I remember being taken onto the Popside, there being lots of old men, and a fug of pipe tobacco smoke in the air (not much changes!) I also remember the players running out and kicking autographed plastic footballs into the crowd (something I've never seen at a match since) and me catching one - pretty spawny as it was my first match! I've still got the football, though the autographs sadly have smudged.
Which Brewers match left you feeling most elated?
It tends to be the games with dramatic late winners which leave you most on a high, so I'd say in recent years either Terry Henshaw's winner against Farnborough in the Trophy (2002), or Aaron's penalty at Tamworth on August Bank Holiday 2001. Or going back a bit, the match against Telford in the Trophy - a goal down with time ticking away, Telford reduced to nine-men and the Brewers storming back to win 3-1.
And which left you feeling most disappointed?
Away at Bradford City in the Cup. To come from behind twice and almost win it with Dougie Keast (who??) hitting the crossbar was amazing stuff, so to lose it right at the death thanks to that lanky t*** Ian Ormonroyd, with a lucrative Eton Park replay beckoning, was just gutting. In those days we never looked remotely like challenging for the title, so the Cups were everything.
What's the best away ground you've visited, and why?
Despite the decrepit state of the away section and the appalling facilities, York Street, Boston is still a really good stadium, and looks and feels like a proper football ground. For facilities, the Autoquest, home of Runcorn, takes some beating, although it's not strictly speaking a football ground.
And the worst?
Rothwell - a glorified farmers field, no fans, no atmosphere, no food!. Even the Moat Ground, shithole though it is, had a certain character about it.
Do you support any other team apart from the Brewers?
No
Why do you support Burton Albion?
I had a childhood dalliance with Man Utd, but despite the big crowds, fantastic stadium, great players etc, it was always like you were gatecrashing in someone else's experience. When you support your local team you feel more of a connection with the team.
Which team do you dislike most?
Tamworth
What is your opinion on Derby County Football Club?
Mildly dislike them
If you could choose three ways the club could be improved, what would they be?
1 - The club is better run than it's ever been, but there could be better communication with the fans over issues such as stewarding and ticket arrangements
2 - A decent covered terrace at the Derby Road End
3 - Being in the Conference!
What single improvement would you make to Eton Park?
A decent covered terrace at the Derby Road End
What music should the Brewers run out to on matchday?
'Death or Glory' by The Clash
What colour should the away strip be?
I think an Aussie rugby style all dark green with amber trim would be nice, and the amber would keep the connection with the first choice colours. Failing that, the all white with black trim was not bad - anything but that blue thing basically!
If you won the National Lottery jackpot, would you donate some of it to the Brewers??
If I won a really sizable amount, definitely. I think it's a much more worthwhile way to spend it than a fleet of ferraris you'll never drive or a mansion (you can only be in one room at a time). I'd keep a bit for meself obviously!
Your all time Brewers XI

Goodwin
Davies, Blount, Wassall, Kamara
Stride, Clough, Redfern, Glasser
Whitehouse, Cotterill

I know there's three central defenders in there, but I'm struggling to think of a really decent left back - it's always been a difficult position to fill. We may have had technically better strikers at the club than Whitehouse and Cotterill but together they were unstoppable - if we'd had just one goal grabber like that in recent years I think we'd already be in the Conference.
Where, realistically, would you like to see the Brewers in five years time?
As a well-established Conference side, with healthy crowds, a few good cup runs, and challenging for a place in the Football League via what will hopefully by then be more than just the one promotion place.
Any further comments?
If we don't do it this year, I'm emigrating.

What was the first Brewers match you attended, and what do you remember about it?
FA Trophy Final at Wembley. I remember going on the Radio Derby bus - which was a double decker that bounced us to London at 50mph. At the time I was off to Wembley every year with Forest so I didnt realise how special it was to Brewers fans - I do now
Which Brewers match left you feeling most elated?
Telford a few years back - all the sendings off etc -or maybe Boston at home last year. As Jim Royle would say "Pub Team Evans? My Arse"
And which left you feeling most disappointed?
Folkestone at home 2001 - I knew we'd blow it again
What's the best away ground you've visited, and why?
Bradford - the big cup outing to a league ground is whats best about the FA Cup
And the worst?
Probably Gresley - but so many arent much to shout about
Do you support any other team apart from the Brewers?
Forest. I was born in Nottingham, my family are all Forest fans, I have been a regular since I was 8 back in 1974! It will be hard to give up to watch the Brewers in the Conference (hopefully)
Why do you support Burton Albion?
I got a job in Burton, then moved here. Prior to that I lived in Mickleover. When Forest didnt have a game (and spurred on by the Trophy final) I sort of adopted Burton and became more and more hooked!
Which team do you dislike most?
Derby - predictable I know- but I know of no set of fans who are prepared to give out stick but are least able to take it in return
What is your opinion on Derby County Football Club?
I dislike them a lot
If you could choose three ways the club could be improved, what would they be?
1 - Big new home terrace at car park end
2 - Bigger smarter social club - worth visiting on non match days
3 - Coors to plough in £10million sponsorship to endear themselves to the locals
What single improvement would you make to Eton Park?
Big terrace at car park end
What music should the Brewers run out to on matchday?
Nothing tacky (ala Simply the Best). Something relevant to Burton - but I don't know what
What colour should the away strip be?
Red & White
If you won the National Lottery jackpot, would you donate some of it to the Brewers??
No - but I would put some money their way maybe via sponsoring games etc. Perhaps I may build a stand if they called it the "Burtontricky End"
Your all time Brewers XI

Goodwin
Davies, Wassall, Blount, March
Stride, Clough, Redfern, Glasser
Anderson, Nuttall

Funny how I struggle to name left sided players, based mainly on the last 10 years. Perhaps in a year I'll be naming Webster - the juries out on that
Where, realistically, would you like to see the Brewers in five years time?
Pushing hard to be in the third division
Any further comments?
I never used to understand how people could have 2 teams, but I do now. Driving back from Forest listening to the delayed Whitby match on radio Sheep I told my mate that Burton would equalise - despite the fact that the match was in injury time. I just knew the spirit of the players would grind something out. This is something I believe has been lost by the over paid prima donnas of the Premiership!

What was the first Brewers match you attended, and what do you remember about it?
Trophy final replay - with my then girlfriend (now wife) I was a student at the time and I tended to follow Kiddy a bit as one of my mates played for them. That one game left an indelible memory the atmosphere, the noise - the missed bloody penno!!!
Which Brewers match left you feeling most elated?
On balance the Boston at home game - 'You'll never beat the pub side!!!!' Closely followed by the total footy played against Hastings DML final, and Barrow trophy this year.
And which left you feeling most disappointed?
There isn't one that sticks out - I prefer not to remember the really poor games!
What's the best away ground you've visited, and why?
I'm with mootch - Boston is a top ground - despite the shocking and awful little away end. I also enjoyed Gainsboro- but that may have had more to do with the quality of the beer in the Wetherspoons.
And the worst?
Bishop Aukland - pre Victorian dump!
Do you support any other team apart from the Brewers?
Sheffield Wednesday - I was born that way!
Why do you support Burton Albion?
Sheffield Wednesday were/are crap - the journey was too much and I was billy no mates going up there on my own. Eton Park was/is in walking distance found some 'mates' enjoyed the football, now its more of a social occasion.
Which team do you dislike most?
Sheffield United, Sheffield United reserves
What is your opinion on Derby County Football Club?
I like to see them do well
If you could choose three ways the club could be improved, what would they be?
1 - A board/fan forum annually
2 - Slightly better organisation in the seated area (though overall the board/volunteers do a terrific job)
3 - An attitude change for the fans on the pop side
What single improvement would you make to Eton Park?
Proper terracing on the popside
What music should the Brewers run out to on matchday?
Things can only get better!
What colour should the away strip be?
Blue and white stripes!
If you won the National Lottery jackpot, would you donate some of it to the Brewers??
A bit
Your all time Brewers XI

Clough, Stride, Glasser, Redfern

Where, realistically, would you like to see the Brewers in five years time?
Solid financial foundation - decent ground, still part time but heading for the league as a part time Div 3 club

What was the first Brewers match you attended, and what do you remember about it?
It was on December 23rd 1972 against Wimbledon at Eton Park. We lost 1 -0 apparently, but I don't remember much about the result, only that Wimbledon played in white and that my dad bought me a rosette which I didn't like as I wanted a scarf. I moaned about having to stand up and so, reluctantly my dad let us go and sit in the stand. there was plenty of room, there were only 500 odd people there and I don't think they even used to charge for transfer to the stand in those days.
Which Brewers match left you feeling most elated?
Whenever we win
And which left you feeling most disappointed?
Whenever we lose
What's the best away ground you've visited, and why?
Manor Ground at Ilkeston cos it's the only one I can walk to these days
And the worst?
The Moat Ground at Gresley
Do you support any other team apart from the Brewers?
Burton Albion reserves
Why do you support Burton Albion?
Born and bred in Burton
Which team do you dislike most?
Don't know, probably Arsenal
What is your opinion on Derby County Football Club?
Don't care
If you could choose three ways the club could be improved, what would they be?
1 - Improve the Brook end terracing & pop side. More raised terracing (like the Gordon Bray)
2 - Win several million on the lottery & buy the club
3 -
What single improvement would you make to Eton Park?
As before, improving the terracing
What music should the Brewers run out to on matchday?
Anything by 'Armarda'
What colour should the away strip be?
White
If you won the National Lottery jackpot, would you donate some of it to the Brewers??
Yes
Your all time Brewers XI
