Billed in the 98-99 edition of the Guide as "definitely a team to watch this season", proving that prediction is a mug's game. After storming to the Dr. Martens Midland Division title and the FA Trophy Quarter Final, Grantham arrived in the Premier Division with much hype about their full-time professional squad, experienced Football League manager (Danny Bergara), and rich Chairman (Reg Brearley). The latter two were soon departed and the club have seemingly lurched from one crisis to another ever since. At time of writing they were without a win after ten DML games, and looking certainties for the drop.

Modern, purpose-builtstadium, but pitch surrounded by the dreaded athletics track, which does not help the atmosphere. Also, segregation is enforced at all Dr. Marten's League matches,  after incidents of crowd trouble in the past - raising the prospect of Rothwell Town's one supporter having a whole section of terracing to himself! Ground is located in the middle of a council estate, with not many good pubs in the vicinity, so head for the town centre if you require this kind of liquid refreshment.

Stuff to do:

-

Famous people?

Sir Isaac Newton (mathemetician and physicist), and Margaret Thatcher (tyrant) were both born and raised in Grantham.
On the air: BBC Radio Lincolnshire (94.9/ 104.7 FM & 1368 MW) can be relied upon to keep you up to date. Also, Lincs FM broadcast on 102.2 FM, and on a clear day you can hear them for miles.
