Club who built a stadium fit for the Football League, then proceeded to freefall in the opposite direction, now promoted back to the Dr. Marten'e Premier Division as Champions two seasons ago, and looking to regain their Conference place. Crunch match against local rivals Dorchester always produces one of the biggest crowds in the Dr. Marten's League all season, though Weymouth fans are keen to point out that the real enemy are not Dorchester but Yeovil Town.

Another seaside trip for Dr. Marten's League fans to enjoy, but an epic journey for some of the more Nothern and Eastern teams in the league. As already mentioned,  the Wessex Stadium is a newish ground built (in 1987) before the post-Hillsborough revolution in stadia design, so maintains the traditional non-league layout of terracing (part-covered) on three sides, large main stand (and more terracing) on remaining side. The ground is also stranded three miles out of town on an industrial estate, so thrill-seekers should head into the Town Centre and harbour area first, where there are plenty of good pubs and fast food outlets.

Nicknamed the "Terras" on account of their traditional terracotta and blue colours, Weymouth are one of a clutch of strong sides joining the league this season, and will be hoping to "terrarise" the Dr. Marten's Premier in their first season back in the (ahem) "big time".

Stuff to do:

A trip to the seaside! What more could you ask for in an away trip?? A nice sandy beach, plenty of pubs, and some good fish and chips, plus the usual tacky amusement arcades you'd expect. Also, no shortage of B&B's if you want to make a weekend of it.

Famous people?

No known famous residents, but the Terras have had plenty of famous ex-players, including Andy TownsendSteve ClaridgeTony Agana and Graham Roberts.
On the air: BBC Radio Solent have a non-league roundup at 6pm on Saturday's. You can find them at 96.1/103.8 on your FM dial. Or you could try Wessex FM on 97.2 FM
On the net: Weymouth site
